Bodily Injury and Property Damage

Pays others on your behalf for all valid claims for bodily injury and property damage.

Also pays for the cost of your legal defense, even if the claim is false, fraudulent or groundless. Includes attorney fees, witness fees and your own lost wages up to $50 per day due to your required attendance at hearings or trials. Lost wage reimbursements may vary in some states.

We will also reimburse you up to $300 for bail bonds (amount may vary in some states) and will pay for appeal bonds or bonds to release attachment of your motorcycle held because of an accident.

This coverage protects you on any motorcycle you borrow or rent temporarily, and also protects anyone who temporarily borrows your motorcycle.

Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist

You’re covered for medical expenses arising from an auto accident for you and qualified family members — regardless of who’s at fault.

This coverage also pays a predetermined portion of your lost income; a specific amount for essential services the injured person would normally perform without pay and medical expenses for other people injured in your car.

Uninsured motorist

Pays you and anyone else injured on your motorcycle for bodily injuries caused by an uninsured motorist or hit-and-run driver. May be written separately in some states.

Medical Payments

If you or anyone else riding on your motorcycle is injured due to an accident, this coverage will pay all doctor, hospital, X-ray and related medical costs, up to the desired limit.

Limits of $500, $1,000 and $2,000 are available, all subject to a deductible. Limits may vary in states with no-fault insurance.

You’re insured for accidental damage to your car caused by collision with any object or by upset. Collision pays up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, less the deductible you select.

Specialized Coverage

For real peace of mind as you travel off the beaten path, you need a policy that provides a wide range of coverages These should include:

  • Collision Coverage
  • Other Than Collision Coverage
  • Liability Coverage
  • Medical Payments Coverage
  • Safety Apparel Coverage

Optional Coverages

For extra protection out on the trail, and because not everyone’s needs are the same, a policy should offer a variety of options, such as:

  • Increased limits on Liability
  • Optional Equipment Coverage including towable trailers or sleds made for use with an ATV or snowmobile
  • Coverage on transport trailers valued at up to $5,000

Money-saving Discounts

To keep their policies competitive, most insurance companies offer a variety of discounts that can save you 10%, 20%, even 50% or more on your premium. Yet, some companies offer more types of discounts, and larger discounts than others. It can definitely pay to shop around, because what might seem at first glance to be the lowest cost policy, may not be once all the discounts you qualify for are figured into the bottom line. Popular types of discounts include:

  • Companion Policy Discounts
  • Multi-Unit Discounts
  • Mature Driver Discounts
  • Safety Course Discounts
  • Prior Insurance Discounts

A Choice of Deductibles and Payment Plans
Higher deductibles can help lower the cost of your premium. Flexible payment plans help you keep your monthly budgeting on track. Together they can help you keep your premium payments affordable.

Broad Eligibility
It’s truly amazing how many different types of off-road vehicles are hitting the trails today. Snowmobiles, dirt bikes, dune buggies, golf carts and 3-, 4- and 6-wheel ATVs. Not all insurers will cover all these off-road vehicles, so you’ll need to shop around.

An Annual Policy
In the past, ORV owners tried to save money by canceling their policies for part of the year when the weather wasn’t optimal for riding their particular vehicle. The problem is that there’s usually some point (or several points) during the “off-season” that the weather turns absolutely perfect for riding, but because there’s no insurance on your ORV you can’t fire it up without considerable risk. Or, without calling your agent to renew the policy. And then calling back a day or two later to suspend it again. What a hassle!

Luckily, Foremost has done away with this problem by selling only annual policies. And you know what? They really don’t cost you any more, because when the companies price the policies, they take into account the fact that you won’t be driving much during your particular off-season. Yet you still have the option to hit the trail when weather decides to cooperate.

Farmers Friendly Review
In life, nothing stands still. And we want to make sure your insurance keeps pace with your changing lifestyle. When you get married, get that big promotion, buy a house or condo, start thinking about sending the kids to college or traveling during your retirement, you should review your insurance. Are there coverage gaps? Overlaps? Are there new discounts Farmers can offer you?
